a few random thotts

in a curious fit of ignorance I uprooted & destroyed two earthstars. I found myself violently intrigued by their unfamiliar being. but, what had they done to me?

tiny fungi with light brown stems and small black caps sprouted up in groups from the ground beneath the wood.

just as I inhale and exhale, my mind repeatedly returns to rest on the emptiness left in your absence.

an ongoing story

while walking the dog down a wooded path, she came across a bone and lay down to chew on it. I walked slightly up the path and sat under a tree to wait. as I sat, the wind blew, and leaves fell all around me. I felt an occassional drop of rain on my face. after a time, the dog finished chewing & ran toward me. we continued down the path where we saw new deer tracks in the ground.

another thing..

as I stood on a cold night, gazing up at the stars in the midnight sky, I could think only of one thing.

current events

Several long branches protruded from a bush whose branches were otherwise short.

I captured a moth in a dixie cup and released it to the outside world.

I stopped to watch the sun melt a thick fog that lay on a field of wild flowers

I escaped a large elaborate web suspended high in mid-air by an absent spider.

while holding awareness in my hands, a siren sounded in the distance. over time, the sound receded.

from time to time, trees pitch pine cones in my direction. having no eyes, they often miss.

early in the morning air I see my breath before me.

while walking the dog, I happened upon a deer carcass and I was reminded of my own mortality.
