the scream

one cool, dark, but star-filled night, while walking a serpentine path thru a pasture, i heard a distant scream.

as i turned to look over my right shoulder, i saw the moon smiling down at me. when i later took a second look, both the smile & the moon were gone.

an ongoing story

while walking the dog down a wooded path, she came across a bone and lay down to chew on it. I walked slightly up the path and sat under a tree to wait. as I sat, the wind blew, and leaves fell all around me. I felt an occassional drop of rain on my face. after a time, the dog finished chewing & ran toward me. we continued down the path where we saw new deer tracks in the ground.

another thing..

as I stood on a cold night, gazing up at the stars in the midnight sky, I could think only of one thing.
